Let My Faith Inspire Others
17 After seeing them, they reported the message they were told about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.
Luke 2:17-18
THOUGHT
The shepherds reached the manger and saw the promised Messiah announced by the angel. Their act of faith in leaving their place brought them face-to-face with the Messiah. When they arrived, they shared the message they had received about the child, and everyone was amazed. Because of their sincere and life-changing experience with Jesus, the shepherds could not stay quiet about Him.
These verses demonstrate that faith should never stay silent or hidden. Instead, it must be visible through actions. When faith is expressed through deeds, those affected are inspired and have the chance to respond to the conveyed message. The shepherds' actions confirmed the message they proclaimed, influencing everyone who heard them. The shepherds revealed how faith ripples outward and points others to the goodness, grace, and mercy of the Lord.
REFLECTION
We must recognize that genuine faith extends beyond mere belief; it involves living out that belief. Our way of life offers an opportunity to serve the Lord faithfully and to reveal Him to others. By embodying our faith, we can inspire and motivate others to follow the Lord. Our faith then becomes a testimony of our trust and obedience, as well as evidence of God's faithfulness in our lives.
PRAYER
Lord, guide me to live faithfully in a way that encourages others to follow and obey You. May my life serve as an example of faithfulness, inspiring others to see Your work in me and motivating them to live by faith Amen.
