The Victorious King

After the sorrow and silence of the tomb on Saturday, Sunday brings news that changes everything. What once appeared as defeat transforms instantly through divine power. HE IS ALIVE! The resurrection is more than a historical event; it affirms Jesus as the Victorious King and signifies victory over sin, death, and the grave. His resurrection confirms His triumph over these forces and offers hope to all who believe.

THE STONE IS ROLLED AWAY

An angel of the Lord descends, causing an earthquake, and the stone is rolled away. This divine act shatters the silence of Saturday. The guards guarding Jesus' tomb tremble violently and become like dead men, as Jesus has conquered death and the grave and no longer needs the tomb. HE IS ALIVE! The stone's movement was unnecessary for Jesus to leave the tomb but was meant to let others enter. Remember, no obstacle can withstand the power of the Lord.

THE TOMB IS EMPTY

The angel announced, “He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said.” This confirms the message Christ shared before His crucifixion and fulfills the prophecy. The empty tomb serves as strong evidence for both the angel's statement and Christ's promise, highlighting the reality of the resurrection. It also reminds us that God always keeps His promises, even during tough times. He is undefeated. The empty tomb emphasizes the importance of grounding your faith in God’s Word. Let it bolster your trust in every promise God has made.

THE KING IS ALIVE

The women at the tomb receive a message and a command to share their experience and hearing with the disciples. While heading to obey this command, they meet the risen Jesus, fall at His feet in worship, and hear Him speak peace and assign them a mission. The risen Jesus is not distant but present, personal, and worthy of worship. When we respond to Him, we bow and worship. Our passion drives us to share the good news we have received, proclaiming the resurrection.

LIVING UNDER THE VICTORIOUS KING

The resurrection fundamentally transforms the life of a follower of Christ. It grants us hope, as death is overcome and our future is assured through Christ. This event means we can walk in victory, for sin no longer holds power over us. The Victorious King empowers us to reject fear, as the same power that raised Christ from the dead is active within us. With Jesus alive, we carry a message of hope. Living under the reign of the Victorious King means embracing hope, walking in victory, dismissing fear, and spreading the gospel.

The cross was not the final act; the empty tomb signifies victory. Jesus is not a defeated Savior but the reigning King. We should not live as if Jesus is still in the grave but instead embrace the truth that He has risen and is reigning. Because the King is alive, hope is alive, and that changes everything.
