Fully Trust God

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not rely on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways know him,
and he will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:5-6

THOUGHT

Mary reached a point of reflecting on her trust in the Lord. As she received the message, she openly expressed her full trust in Him. She exemplified the challenge presented by the author of Proverbs, who urged God's people to trust in the Lord with all their hearts. The author encouraged them to know the Lord in every aspect of life and to rely on Him to direct their paths. Mary demonstrated the appropriate response to this wisdom.

These Proverbs passages highlight the character of a heart that follows the Lord. The whole heart must be committed and surrendered to Him. This commitment occurs when believers avoid trying to understand God's ways through human reasoning, instead trusting His guidance through an intimate knowledge of Him. The act of surrendering to God's leadership is motivated by the assurance of His guidance.

REFLECTION

We don't need to know everything to trust the Lord. Our relationship with Him means living on a need-to-know basis, where God reveals only what we need to know at the right time. This requires us to fully commit and surrender, placing complete trust in Him. Our trust in the Lord reveals that we rest in the Lord because, though we may not understand, we hold firm to the One who does.

PRAYER

Lord, help me trust You wholeheartedly. Teach me to rely on Your wisdom and ways instead of my own. Guide every step of my life and straighten the paths that lead to Your perfect will. Amen
